As part of Loving Parks week the Life Skills group went to a local park and tidied up.
In Life Skills we are learning about time and travelling safely. The children looked at train timetables so we could plan our journey and enjoy an afternoon in the park.
We had a great last day at the farm and will miss the animals but will hopefully see them again.
Our last days visit to the farm was wet but we still worked hard and had lots of fun.
As part of our topic on seasons we went on a summer walk to Reddish Vale. Because the weather has been so hot we saw that lots of grass had dried up and turned brown and some of the leaves had started to fall off the trees.

Trisha from Brinnington Junior Street Watch came to visit us to tell us all about the great things they do in the local community and how we could join.
The Life Skills group have joined Brinnington library. They each chose a book to take home for the holidays.
We have been looking at ways to keep healthy so we arranged to have a session riding the adapted bikes at Woodbank park.

The Life Skills children are learning about keeping healthy. To help us we visited our local doctor for some advice. Doctor Wilson was very helpful and gave us lots of information on how to keep our heart healthy.

The life skills children made their own pancakes. This is what you need to do. First you need 300 ml of milk, then you need 100g of flour and 2 eggs. Put the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until it is pancake batter. Then put in the fridge to cool down. Recipe by Bailey.
On Tuesday the children made pancakes. They had lots of fun tossing the pancakes so that they cooked on both sides. The children could choose their own toppings they were delicious! And of course after we had finished we washed up.
The life skills group have been learning about time. We went to the train station and got a timetable for the trains to Marple. We used the timetable to find out what time the trains were and how long the journey took.
The Life Skills group went on a winter walk in Reddish Vale to see if we could discover any changes that had occurred since our Autumn walk.
The children made a jelly and blew up lots of balloons for our Christmas party. It was lots of fun and everyone had a great time.

The children have been learning about money (coins) and their value in Life Skills. We have also been learning about months of the year and the seasons. Mr Henderson gave us £1 each to go to Stockport to buy an Advent calendar.

As part of their Life Skills, our children wrote themselves a letter and went to the local post box to post them. They waited all week for their letters to be delivered to their homes.
